#Peerreview = often a thankless task? Would paying reviewers help #sciencepublishing work better, or destroy it? How much money would you expect to receive per review? #scicomm #scipol #R2RConf @ScienceInsider @NewsfromScience
Academics love bandaids! because they are contracted to produce them and rewarded for them, and hence became addicted to bandaid solutions. #phdchat

Replying to @KyleKulinski: But he's not the interim president and he wasn't democratically elected

Germans have coined over 1,200 terms to describe the rules & realities of the coronavirus pandemic.
The rate & number of words added have no precendents in recent times.

no, not yet! likely a result of those use the #COVID19 #ExposureAlert apps also follow the #healthcare guidelines etc. But the true value of these contact tracing apps will be realized in the years to come, not just for this virus and its variants, but also others. #PublicHealth
You want bad @NYGovCuomo takes? Then you’ve come to the right place.
It’s good to see folks recognize his failure. But apologies are in order from those who built him into a pandemic hero while he played a villain

Context: I want to extend my [protest] walkout from Nature to Elsevier. #phdchat
@KordingLab @tyrell_turing @graemedmoffat @LLogiaco the first step is rather simple: stop publishing in all journals that are not run by a scientific society not accountable to its members. Simple!
dead silence here when I try engage that idea with some folks here:
