This made my heart soar. A family that adopted an African American child have been posting pix of the notable Black women she dresses up to emulate during Black History Month. This is her depiction of Gwen Ifill. I love this. But more importantly, Gwen would have LOVED this
Charley Pride left us his voice. The industry was overwhelmingly white when Pride's career took off in the 1960s, but Pride's talent was undeniable, catapulting him to the top of the charts over and over again. Learn more in the UNUM playlist below. #BHM
Thank you to all who attended "Hemingway, Journalism, & War" last night. We hope you enjoyed the conversation!
A special thanks to @KCStar, @KenBurns, @LynnNovick, Dr. Alex Vernon of @hendrixcollege, and @MelindaKCMO! ❤️
My spouse is simultaneously reading a book on Hemingway while participating in a virtual PBS discussion series over the upcoming @KenBurns Hemingway documentary. And she thinks I’m the nerd for liking board games...🤔
Hope she watches our film on @PBS starting April 5. And thanks for watching our event tonight.
Emmy winner @KenBurns, a peerless chronicler of American life and the co-director of the new @PBS docuseries #Hemingway, sits down with the journalist and author of #Caste @Isabelwilkerson to discuss the power of looking back while moving forward.
Tomorrow evening, join CPL and @wttw for a conversation with @KenBurns and @LynnNovick about Ernest Hemingway and their new documentary on the writer. Registration has been extended; reserve your spot to preview this portrait of a complex, tortured artist.
