Reps. Sean Patrick Maloney have authored the Restoring and Enforcing Accountability of Presidents (REAP) Act.
It would reform the Former Presidents Act of 1958 by stripping past presidents convicted of a felony of their annual pension, office space and a budget to pay for staff.
The fact that we are about to be hit with a tidal wave of voter suppression legislation by Republican legislatures throughout the country is the most under reported story right now. The media is unequipped to cover this in clear moral terms and instead prefers to both sides it.
The testimony of Louis DeJoy—and the surly ignorance he showed of the most-American and once-beloved service he’s supposed to lead—brought back all my fury about the last four years of incompetent sycophants put in these important government jobs.
Our neighbor, @RepMTG, tried to block the Equality Act because she believes prohibiting discrimination against trans Americans is “disgusting, immoral, and evil.”
Thought we’d put up our Transgender flag so she can look at it every time she opens her door 😉🏳️⚧️
Louis DeJoy is still postmaster because he can only be fired by the USPS Board of Governors. The current Board consists of two Democrats and four Republicans. But there are three vacancies.
To save the postal service, Biden must fill those vacancies and send DeJoy packing.
@ThePubliusUSA Manchin’s kid is why I don’t possess an epipen anymore. And I’m deathly allergic to fire ant bites. Taking advantage of a patent loophole that would have netted tons of money if the price just remained the same but no, pulled a major greed card out.
The baseless opposition to the nomination of the eminently qualified @neeratanden proves, yet again, the disgraceful double standard applied to qualified women by misogynistic Republicans and a few cowardly Democrats. Shame on you all. Especially you,@SenatorSinema @JoeManchinWV
