Now at least 18 life-changing reconstructive surgeries could take place at Tygerberg Hospital in Cape Town / South Africa.
One of our permanent supporters Mesut Özil is also really happy: "I'm glad that the medical team can finally continue with the project.
Great news! ❤️ We can finally move on with our mission to help children in need! 🙏🏼 The COVID 19 pandemic has an impact on all facets of life but particularly on the health system and resulted in a large number of patients desperately waiting for their procedure to be done.
Today kickstarts @TygerbergHospital Smile Week backed by @BigShoe_11 . A minimum of 18 children will receive transforming surgery to restore their confidence and smiles.

In times of the Coronavirus it’s even more important that the world works together hand in hand🌍Unfortunately BigShoe is also affected by the Corona pandemic and several projects couldn’t take place as scheduled. We’re working on solutions to recommence all operations asap (1/2)
Special thanks again to @MesutOzil1088 for making all this possible for children in need across the world. 🌍 Proud of having worked together with you since the World Cup in 2014 🇧🇷❤️

After the Coronavirus outbreak and the tough Corona regulations of Cameroon, unfortunately all airports were closed and the team got stuck in their house in Douala. After two weeks of waiting and the help of @MesutOzil1088 , a flight back home to Switzerland could be organized.
Good news at Easter! Our last journey was longer than expected 🇨🇲 However, Dr. Volker Wedler and his team from Interplast-Switzerland got back safely. 🙏🏼 It all began with a regular @BigShoe mission. The team traveled to Bafoussam in Cameroon to operate on children in need. (1/3)
On to Myanmar 🇲🇲 This time our #BigShoe visited Loikaw to help 40 children and families in need 🏥 Thanks to Dr. Herbert Bauer and his team from Interplast Sektion Stuttgart Münster for their great work 🙏🏼🤲🏼 Next stop: Malawi 🇲🇼
