@GailSimone #FirstNovel Either Space Cadet by Robert Heinlein, or Lucky Starr and the Oceans of Venus, about the age of seven. Even when I was a kid, I was already shipping David Starr and John "Bigman" Jones, even if I didn't know that much about sex, sexual orientation, and relationships.
The first novel I can remember reading all by myself was Tales in Toyland by Enid Blyton when I was...maybe 7. I cannot remember a thing about the book now. I remember my next read much better. That was Beverly Cleary's Beezus and Ramona. #FirstNovel
@GailSimone I don’t think it was the first, but it’s the one that sticks in my mind-The Black Stallion. I started there and worked my through the rest of the library. I finally learned to ride and bought my horse at 38. He’s still with me 26 years later. #FirstNovel
